During the 2020 pandemic, Dulce was employed as a Personal Injury defense paralegal for major Chicago sports team's reputable firm. Part of her duties included collecting medical records, creating medical summaries  and writing extensively detailed letters to independent medical experts when requiring their opinion for causal connection. The partner of this firm invested in her to sharpen her professional writing skills at UChicago. Dulce herself could not afford such a course but enjoyed it. She successfully completed her course and with interest in any other opportunities for free education learned about Illinois Humanities' The Odyssey Project, directed by Rebecca Amato. 

Dulce completed two years of this program with UIC and qualified for 4 year scholarship through this program at UChicago. At the end of these four years, she will also be a alum and considered for international world travel. 

After completing her first year graduation 2022, Dulce sat as a panelist to help during orientation for the new group at Haymarket House.

June 2022, Dulce was invited to share her experience with Director, Rebecca Amato and Instructor Jacqueline  Andrews during a recorded televised infomercial at CAN T.V. Please see below.

May 2023, Dulce graduated from her 2nd and final year of the Odyssey Project. She was chosen to speak at graduation ceremony on behalf of her class at The National Museum of Mexican Art. Please visit blog for speech.

June 2023, Dulce was invited to speak on her 2nd year student experience with Director Rebecca Amato at local radio station, Lumpen Radio.

September 2023, Dulce begins her next phase of her journey with IH. Please learn more about the amazing humanities work that you too can be a part of.
